Seamlessly integrate and automate your processes with your software systems

Connect Respaid to third-party apps with Zapier

At Respaid, we've integrated with Zapier to make debt collection even more efficient. Zapier is a user-friendly automation tool that allows you to connect Respaid with 6000+ other apps without any coding.Β

With this integration, you can streamline tasks like adding new receivables for collection or updating information.

‍

How Zapier works

A connection in Zapier is called a "Zap." Every Zap begins with a Trigger, or an event that happens in an app, which is followed by an Action - an automation Zapier performs in another app. Simply set triggers and actions to automate your workflow. The process is straightforward - test your setup, activate your Zap, and let it run in the background. It's a hassle-free way to enhance your debt collection processes and boost overall efficiency.

For example, if you want to collect unpaid invoices issued over 90 days ago, the Zap Trigger is "Each time an unpaid invoice issue date reaches 90 days..." and the Action is "Start debt collection campaign in Respaid."

‍

How to create a new zap

Step 1: Pick the apps you want to integrate with Respaid

In this example, we want to halt the collection process for a specific receivable in Respaid when the debtor makes the payment on your end (using Stripe payment links for sent invoices).

To get started, navigate to this page. Once there, select which app you want to use with Respaid. You can use the search to do this. Selecting an app from the search will take you to that app's page. Once you navigate to the Stripe page, you'll select the trigger and action you want to use.

In the following example, the trigger is every time a new payment is made in Stripe. When the payment is made, the debt collection process will be stopped in Respaid. This, in turn, will be the action.

Here's how to get started in Zapier:

‍

‍

‍

After you select "Stripe" you'll land on a page that outlines exactly what you've selected. On this page, select the button that says "Connect these apps".

‍

‍

You're well on your way to setting up your first Zap!

‍

Step 2: Authorize Zapier to connect to the platform of your choice

‍

Now that we have a workflow in mind for Zapier to execute for us, we'll need to take a couple of steps to set up the way our custom integration will run.

First select the trigger's event from the dropdown menu, which in this case is "New Payment" then select the blue "Continue" button.

‍

‍

It's time then to connect this Zap to the relevant Stripe account. If you've used Zapier in the past, select your Stripe account from the dropdown menu or select the "Add a New Account" option.

When adding a new account, follow the on-screen instructions to login to your Stripe account.

‍

‍

After selecting or adding your account, select the blue "Continue" button. Zapier will then allow you to test the trigger by selecting the blue "Test trigger" button. This ensures that you're working with the appropriate data within your Stripe account:

‍

‍

Once you've confirmed that the correct data was pulled for your trigger, you can select the blue "Continue" button.

We can now move on to setting up our Respaid action! How exciting.

‍

Setting up your action

Step 1: Select the action of your choice

After selecting "Continue" at the end of the last step, the first screen you'll see confirms that you want to work with the selected app for your action. In this case, the app we're working with is Respaid! πŸŽ‰ And the action event that we want is to stop Collection for direct client payment.

Click the blue "Continue" button once you're satisfied with the selected app and action.

‍

Step 2: Authorize Zapier to connect to your Respaid account

We've set up the action! However, before Zapier is allowed to access your Respaid data, you will need to authorize it first by providing your API key. Now, you will need to connect your Respaid account to Zapier. If you haven't already, select "Connect a new account".

You'll then get a pop-up window asking for your Respaid API key:

‍

‍

To access this token, log in to your Respaid account, and select "Zapier Integration" and copy the API key.

‍

‍

Paste this token into the Zapier pop-up window, and select the orange "Yes, Continue to Respaid" button:

‍

Step 3: Configure your action

So far, we've selected the action we want Zapier to do for us and allowed Zapier to connect to your Respaid account to access your dashboard data. At this point, we'll just need to set up the action further and send the needed data to identify the case we want to stop when the payment is received on your side.

You'll be instructed to select which data from Stripe you want to assign to each entry for Respaid platform. In this example, we'll be using the following data mapping :Β

Respaid x Stripe

Email β†’ Customer Email

Phone number (not mandatory) β†’ Customer Phone

Invoice number β†’ Invoice Data Number

Amount β†’ Amount

You can use the search bar to easily find the values corresponding to the input. Click the blue "Continue" button once you're done. This will allow you to see how your data looks before you run the test:

‍

Then, Zapier will attempt to stop the collection process for that file on Respaid's platform. Let's see how that will work!

After a drum roll πŸ₯... our end result looks pretty neat!

‍

‍

You've now successfully created a zap that automatically transfers data from Stripe to Respaid.
